01 · Book
Choose in-person (San Francisco) or telehealth (CA, NY, FL). $350 fee. Most appointments available within two weeks.
02 · Consult
Full history. Medication review. Discussion of conditions, evidence, and options. The physician may decline to certify if cannabis is contraindicated.
03 · Plan
Issued at the end of the visit. Condition, program, starting dose, titration schedule, follow-up cadence. Shareable with your primary care physician.
04 · Follow
20-minute visits every 90 days. Plan adjustments. Response monitoring. Side-effect review. Coordination with your care team.
02 · Clinical programs
Materia organizes its clinical work into five programs. Each has its own evidence brief, dosing reference, and outcome-tracking protocol. The physician selects the program with you at the initial visit.
03 · What Materia is, and is not
Clinical, not transactional
45 minutes with a board-certified physician. The visit is conducted the way any specialty consultation would be conducted. If the physician concludes cannabis is not appropriate for you, the physician will say so.
Evidence-led
The clinical team maintains an internal evidence matrix updated quarterly. Where the evidence is mixed, we say so. Where another therapy has stronger evidence for your condition, we recommend that instead.
Longitudinal, not one-shot
The relationship does not end with the issuance of a state card. Quarterly follow-ups. Plan adjustments. Coordination with your primary care physician, oncologist, or pain specialist.
04 · Telehealth
Same standard of care as the in-person consultation. The platform is HIPAA-compliant. The visit is recorded only with your consent. Care plans are delivered as printed PDF and as a secure patient-portal document.
If you live in a state where Materia is not yet licensed but you are visiting CA, NY, or FL, you can be seen during your visit if your state of residence permits cross-state telehealth follow-up. Ask at the time of booking.
